ASTRA
The Radial Expansion
"Astra" is a study in radiance and geometry, where the human figure becomes a celestial diagram—limbs extended like rays, the body transformed into a living constellation. Through disciplined chiaroscuro, the photograph sculpts volume with precision, allowing light to define structure while shadow preserves mystery. The pose suggests both expansion and surrender: a moment of kinetic openness held perfectly still.
What elevates the image is its architectural clarity. The composition reads almost as a symbol—an emblem of reach, momentum, and transcendence—while remaining unmistakably intimate and corporeal. "Astra" invites the viewer to consider the body as both matter and myth: grounded in flesh, yet pointing outward, toward the infinite.

Behind the Image
Astra — The Photographer's Statement
«Astra» AP by Alex Manfredini
"Astra was born from a simple obsession: what happens when the body stops being a subject and becomes a symbol. I directed this pose as an act of expansion—arms and legs opening into space until the figure reads like a star drawn in light. It's not about acrobatics or display. It's about reach: the instinct to extend beyond what contains us, even when the world insists on limits. I used hard light and deep shadow to keep it honest. Light reveals structure; shadow protects intimacy. In that tension, the image becomes both physical and mythic—flesh with a horizon. Astra is my reminder that the body can be a map to something larger."

Amalfi Mat
Handmade Cotton Paper — A Medieval Tradition for Art
The magic behind handmade paper lies in the uniqueness of every single sheet. A centuries-old tradition kept alive by small, family-driven paper mills producing this limited-edition medium. The deckled edges of Amalfi paper are formed through ancient procedures: cotton pulp is filtered and spread on a wooden screen, manually, sheet by sheet — an art dating back to the 13th century. Each sheet becomes a singular frame that elevates Alex Manfredini's photographs with quiet, irreplaceable elegance.
