SOMA
The Shadow Sovereign
"Soma" represents the culmination of the Luminance rhythmic studies. The Greek word for "body," Soma here transcend individual identity to become a repetitive, almost architectural pattern of organic lines. By placing the figures in parallel, the composition creates a visual cadence — a pulse of light and shadow that echoes across the frame. This artwork is a sovereign declaration of the body as art. There is a weight and a presence in the shadows that anchor the image, while the light highlights the subtle textures of the skin and the tension in the silhouettes. In "Soma," the human form is no longer a solitary subject but a collective landscape, a geography of shared existence where the boundaries between one and another dissolve into a single, sovereign melody of light.

Behind the Image
Soma — The Photographer's Statement
"With Soma, I wanted to explore the idea of multiplicity within silence. It took days of planning to align the forms so that the shadows of one would perfectly complement the light of the next, creating that signature repetition that looks like waves on a dark sea.
In our bodies, we carry everything we are. When you strip away the color and the context, you're left with the fundamental truth of form. Soma is my tribute to that truth. It's not about the individuals in the photo; it's about the universal body — the structure that connects us all to the light."

Amalfi Mat
Handmade Cotton Paper — A Medieval Tradition for Art
The magic behind handmade paper lies in the uniqueness of every single sheet. A centuries-old tradition kept alive by small, family-driven paper mills producing this limited-edition medium. The deckled edges of Amalfi paper are formed through ancient procedures: cotton pulp is filtered and spread on a wooden screen, manually, sheet by sheet — an art dating back to the 13th century. Each sheet becomes a singular frame that elevates Alex Manfredini's photographs with quiet, irreplaceable elegance.
